CHEEK, Franklin Miller, 82 of Goodlettsville, born October 3, 1932 in Nashville, TN passed away on June 15, 2014. He was preceded in death by parents, Ewing and Penny Cheek; brother, Robert Cheek; sisters, Reba Vick, and Frances Cheek. Survived by wife, Wilma Fay Jennings Cheek; daughter, Cristy (Matt) Ricker; son, Todd (Angie) Cheek; grandchildren, Tyler (Emily Kerr) Ricker, Emily Ricker, Rachel Ricker, and Spencer Rankin. Miller grew up in East Nashville on Trinity Lane, where he delivered newspapers from 1946 to 1947 with lifelong friends Robert "Bobby" Ballow and Ed Kohl. Miller Graduated from Isaac Litton High School in 1950, where he enjoyed playing football and baseball. He joined the army in 1951, and served in the Korean Conflict until 1954. Miller started working at First American National Bank in 1954 and retired to play golf and spend time with his family in 1992. He began his work career as a Teller at 808 Broadway and worked his way up to Executive Vice President. He eloped with his wife of 58 years, in 1955, and they ate their honeymoon dinner at the Krystal Restaurant in Georgia. He was a long time member of the Madison Church of Christ. He was a very competitive golfer, football, basketball, baseball, and ping pong player. He lived his life to the fullest until stricken with Alzheimer's disease. A special thank you to the staff of Clare Bridge Goodlettsville, for their loving care and support during his stay with them. Thank you for understanding and love during both good and difficult times. He touched the lives of many people, and we are grateful for the memories we had with him. Visitation with the family will be held in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Home Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from 2 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted by Tyler Ricker Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 1 p.m. with visitation starting prior to the funeral at 11 a.m. Pallbearers include: Spencer Rankin, Bobby Ballow, Matt Ricker, Jim Windrow, and Larry Woosley. Honorary Pallbearers include: Marshall Cranford, Charlie Darnell, Lester Hayes, Ed Kohl, Kenneth Massey, Ken Rice, Jim Smith, Brac Thoma, Dan Webber, De Wiles, and Worthey Wiles. Interment to follow at Springhill Cemetery with Military Honors.
