Obituary of Sadie Vandeventer

VANDEVENTER, Sadie Burgett Williams, age 89 of Madison, TN. Born in Sumner Co on August 14, 1923, passed away on July 12, 2013. Preceded in death by parents James W. Burgett and Amanda Goad Burgett; sisters, Rena Tillman, Lillie Butler, Nell Vandercook, Emma Woodward, Anne Johnson, Ollie Dyer; brothers, Simon Burgett and Lester Burgett; also preceded in death by husband, Charles N. Vandeventer, Sr. Survived by daughter, Doris Williams Jump (Chuck) of Goodlettsville, TN; step-daughter, Betty V. Wright of Memphis, TN; Granddaughters, Brandy Jump Horton (Brad) of Goodlettsville, TN, Brittany Jump of Gallatin, TN; step grandson, Mike Cooper of Memphis, TN., great grandson, Brantley Horton and great granddaughter (to be born in Oct.) She is also survived by a sister, Ada Mai Walter of Portland, TN and several nieces and nephews; all special to her. Sadie was a devoted mother, mother in law, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She worked in the grocery business for many years and most recently for Grey Line Tours. The family will receive friends at Madison Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 from twelve noon until service time at 7PM with Sid Durham officiating.
