Obituary of Donnie Lee Gregory Sr

Our family sadly lost a very special family member on Friday, May 13, 2022, Donnie Gregory Sr, favorably known as ‘Big Donnie’, passed away from experiencing a heart attack when going to work that morning. Donnie was a loving & caring father, husband, and a dear family member, a great friend to many people. He passed away unexpectedly, which left us all in tears. Our hearts are broken by his passing…He was a hard worker. Donnie was a jack of many trades! He could fix & build anything! He worked in construction for years. He was always on the move…always working…He was also making someone laugh…if someone was crying, he could make them laugh until they cried! He was a joy to be around..his family from Florida couldn’t wait to see him when they visited because they knew they would laugh, talk, and listen to his stories! He was an avid fisherman and diver. He loved the water, and catching the biggest fish! Donnie loved and adored his boys, Donnie and Daniel…and girls, Jennifer and Halie! He always loved his wife & best friend, Vicky, even when he left, he always came back home to live, She was the love of his life, I remember him saying this. He was a great friend & didn’t meet a stranger…his mom, actually was his first love, and his dad…another best friend…he was a kind, giving, and loving soul. He would help anyone, reaching out unselfishly, taking in his girls, at one time, Tiffany & Jodi…when his family was in need, they loved him! And their brother, Sammy also loved his Uncle Donnie…He will be missed so much..he already is…I bet he is now making the angels laugh! He is with their son, Daniel & Mom in heaven..he is at peace…he will be looking down on us and smiling, waiting to welcome us at our huge reunion in heaven. He has many family members that love him in heaven…he will be missed… Donnie leaves behind his ex-wife, Vicky Gregory, his son Donnie Gregory Jr., his stepdaughter Halie Shannon, his stepdaughter Jennifer Mullins & her daughter Aubrey, Donnie’s first grandchild. He is also survived by his Father, David W Gregory and Stepmother Betty Hensley. He was predeceased by his mother, Linda Crump and his son Daniel Gregory. He is survived by his sister, Angie Gregory and her husband, Joe, his brother Doug Gregory and Vicky Gregory, His Aunt Janie and Joe, James Gregory his cousin. He is also survived by his sister in law & her children, Terri Tracy, children-Tiffany Crawford, Jodi Vandermeullan, and Sammy Adams her son. Donnie had many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly and they loved him the same. We all love you Big Donnie…RIP
