Obituary of Julia Katherine Floyd

Julia Katherine Floyd, 79, of Hendersonville, TN passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Brookdale Memory Care in Goodlettsville. The Funeral Service will be held at Madison Funeral Home on Thursday, May 26 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Richard Gaia officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery in Madison. Visitation will be held at Madison Funeral Home on Thursday, May 26 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Madison Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements. Julia was born in East TN to John and Mamie Cope on March 21, 1943. She went to East Nashville High School and graduated in 1961. She worked at Genesco for several years and married James Otto Floyd on May 22, 1964. She enjoyed being a homemaker, working on creative projects, and ministering to women in their relationship with the Lord. She taught Bible studies and Sunday School at First Baptist Church in Hendersonville for many years and loved spending time in God’s Word. Julia is preceded in death by her husband, James O. Floyd, parents, John and Mamie Cope, and brother John D. Cope, Jr. Julia is survived by her daughters, Angelea L. Floyd (Lee Olsen) and Deborah D. Tanner (Tod), granddaughter Danielle, and brothers, Ronald E. Cope (DeeDee) and Kenneth Cope.
