Mary Head

Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Head

Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
August 24,2020 Mary E. Head went home to be with the Lord peacefully in the arms of her youngest son, Glen Head in her home. Mary was born in Ramsey, Illinois in 1920 and later resided in Camden, TN and then Madison, TN in 1965. Mary Head was a loving and caring lady who dearly loved Jesus with all her heart, mind and soul. She worshiped at Hendersonville Pentecostal Church for many years up till she was unable to attend services. The prayers of our dear mother and grandmother will forever be felt in our lives. Her deepest prayer was that her family would be saved and that we would all be together again in heaven. Mary worked at Western Electric in Indiana and did everything she could to raise her children up in the right way with love and care. She was always full of life, with smiles and laughter that could make a heart melt. Mother also had a voice of an angel that would comfort us and a walk with God that touched our souls. Mother was so proud of her family and she would often say, "Can you believe that from your dad and I, we now have this large beautiful family". Mom was so happy when loved ones came to see her. Mother first rode in horse and buggy and she would share many memories of how those times were hard but also filled with great memories of love and heartfelt times spent with her daddy. She would say, " My daddy took such good care of me and I miss my daddy so much". Lately she would say," God, I miss my husband and I can't wait to give him a big hug". At 99 mother was still so strong physically. She would do exercises and would walk all she could to stay fit. With every visit to mother's home you were always guaranteed to have a sweet visit and you could relax in the arms of a mother who cared. She was always there to listen, help and give advice if called upon but would never interfere with our lives unless it was to help us. The touch of her hand would always sooth us and phone call with mother would help our day go smoother. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Clarence Mathis Head; mother, Ina Susan Williams; father, Benjamin Franklin Bain; son, Billy head; daughter, Emma Jean Silver; sister, Lounette Crossno and brother, Burl Bain. She is survived by sons, Robert (Joan) Head and Glen Head; daughters, Patricia Woodard, Jane Stinson and Diana (Raymon) Adams; 11 grandchildren, Angela Kagay, Cristy Siltman, Mick Woodard, Lisa Anderson, Tricia Whitaker, Shelly Estep, Wendy Smith, Kelly Schimmel, Jennifer Buford, Johnny Adams and Steve Silver; 29 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren. The memories of mother will forever fill our hearts and with each passing day we will be getting closer and closer to seeing and being with our precious mother again and being with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to American Heart Association.
