Mona was born in St. John's Newfoundland on May 25, 1937. She passed away peacefully in Nashville, TN on May 23, 2020. Mona was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Emma Clark Whalen; brothers, Eldred, Alfred, Don and Gregory; sister, Margaret Whalen Chafe; husband, Charles Donald Randles, Sr. Leaving to mourn are her son, Charles, Seattle WA; daughters, Zinia and Cindy, Murfreesboro, TN; brothers, Robert (friend, Sadie Andrews) and Henry (Linda); sister-in-law, Caroline Whalen, St. John's Newfoundland; sister, Nina Whalen, Aurora, Ontario. She is also survived by brother-in-law, William (Lucy) Randles, Kingston Springs, TN, as well a large circle of nieces and nephews. Mona grew up in St. John's. She married Don in 1958. As a Navy wife, she lived throughout the eastern United States until settling with Don in Nashville, TN in 1977. She retired from Rand McNally in 1999. Mona was a kind woman who loved dogs. She enjoyed a good Sunday drive and traveling with her family. Mona had a quick sense of humor and will be dearly missed. Her children would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Margaret Stolz and the other excellent physicians and nurses at St. Thomas-Midtown who helped Mona in her later years. A private family service will be held at a later time.
