Obituary of Richard Eugene Smith

Richard Eugene Smith of Mt Juliet, TN passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at the age of 69. Mr. Smith was a member of Friendship Community Church in Old Hickory, TN. Mr. Smith was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his Parents Edith Marie Jackson Morrison, and Harold Eugene Smith, Step-dad, Frank Morrison, brother, Steven Ronald Morrison, and his daughter, Sherrie Lynn LeJohn.

He is survived by his loving wife Doris Ruth Smith; daughters, Nicole Coggins, Kelly Bussell and Tracy Kral; sons, Richard Eugene “Richie” Smith, Jr., Jason Ray Trusty and Samuel Lee Bussell; sisters, Lois Maple, Carol Axline, Marty Warthman Peggy Martin and Bobbie Banach; brother,  Billy Smith; grandchildren, Chase Smith, Richie Smith, III, Caleigh Smith, Trisha Smith, Dylan Mitchell, Faith Mitchell, Lindsey Coggins, Kristin Coggins, Marisa Coggins, Nicholas Trusty, Allie LeJohn, Adam Bergeson, Samantha Bergeson, Courtney Spence and Benjamin Trusty; great-grandchildren, Guinevere Smith and Laina Smith.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 3pm until funeral time at 6pm in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Home with Pastor Michael DiMarco officiating. Pallbearers, Richard “Richie” Smith, Jr, Richie Smith, III, Jeff Coggins, Billy Smith, Chase Smith and Jason Trusty.

Interment will be on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 11am Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery where military honors will be rendered.
