Obituary of Christine Staton

Please share a memory of Christine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On Saturday, September 17, 2016 Alma Christine Staton died peacefully at Hendersonville Hospital in Hendersonville, Tennessee. She was buried in Greenville, South Carolina. She was an angelic woman who will be sorely missed by her family and friends.  Her family was everything to her and she enjoyed nothing more than family gatherings, of which there were many. Christine had her first child at 16, with Eugene Chumney, and divorced not long after Patsy was born.  She worked very hard to support herself and her daughter.  Christine met her second husband, Robert Jean DeMarcus, in her late 20s and together they had three children, Steve, Camilla and Shani.  Christine helped her husband with his business affairs, kept his books, continued working as a comptometer operator. She raised her four children, and was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Christine was instrumental in opening a Mormon church in Madison, Tennessee.  She held many leadership and teaching positions for over 30 years. Christine loved her scriptures and in her later years spent hours reading them.  Christine took pride in the fact that she traced her family's genealogy back to Adam and Eve.  She spent years working in the genealogy library   Christine had many close friends.  Christine taught her children the value of honesty, hard work, nonjudgmental attitudes, love, strong faith, and many other positive traits. She was a good role model to all who knew her. My parting words for Christine are Well Done Good and Faithful servant!
