MASSEY, GEORGIE RUTH, McCLUNG, 95, died October 31, 2010, born November 25, 1914 in Paulding, GA. Preceded in death by husband, Woodrow Wilson Massey; parents, Oliver Sessor and Eola Gann McClung; brothers, Nall, Ray, JY and Nolen McClung; sister, Vassie Franklin; grandson, Stephen Wilson Draper; son-in-law, Dr. Sam Lucas. She is the mother of Bobby (Patsy) Massey, Janice Draper Lucas, Nina Ruth (Terry) Burdette, Michael V. (Kerrie) Draper, Amanda Ruth Burdette, Timothy (Tammy) Burdette, Taras (Debbie) Massey, Tobi (Larry) Freeman; step-grandchildren, Lucas (Andy) Schulert, Dana Lucas; grandchildren, Erin Draper, Chandra Ruth (Keith) Sutherland, Brandon Burdette, Curtis Burdette, Christopher Hensley, Lauren Burdette, Tyler Freeman, Cameron and Kaleb Massey; great-great grand-children, Daphne Ruth Carter, Abigail Sutherland, brothers, Sam (Jean), Ores (Petie); sister, Atha (Joe) O'Quinn. Georgie's past accomplishments; Worthy High Priestess, White Shrine, Worthy Matron, Easter Star, Mother Advisor Rainbow girls, a member of First Baptist Church, Old Hickory, sunday school teacher. She was educated at Dallas, GA High School. She was a licensed nurse (state of Tennessee). She was appointed by Governor Ned Ray McWherter to the TN Bicentennial Committee. An accomplished seamstress, quilter, pianist, among many other things. Georgie left a legacy of lifelong devotion to her husband, family, church and community.Her work ethic, integrity, love of life, and caring nature are evident of a special gift of God. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday 4-8 p.m. and Thursday 9 until service time at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Home with Rev. Vertis Butler officiating.
